Repair vs. New Installation
When deciding on repairing or installing a new plumbing fixture, there are three things you should consider.
First is the age of the plumbing fixture. All plumbing fixtures have average life spans and with that in mind, it may help you when deciding whether to repair the fixture.
Second is the cost of repair parts vs. a new install. Sometimes the parts that are needed are not standard, which make them very expensive. Unless the fixture has a special place in the home, then there are times that a new install will either be the same price or cheaper than repairing. A lot of the old toilets are not worth repairing because of the price of parts.
Lastly are the questions: “What are your intentions for the home?” and “How long will you be in the home?” Sometimes those questions will help you determine on the best option for you!
